Vans x Sci-Fi Fantasy Sk8-Hi Pro Shoes

Designed in collaboration with legendary former pro skater Jerry Hsu, these Vans x Sci-Fi Fantasy Sk8-Hi Pro Shoes feature DURACAP reinforcements and custom decoration which reflects signature branding from both brands. Providing protection and support around the ankles, the hi-top silhouette gives the design a nostalgic feel with durable true blue coloured fabric uppers and black suede trims along the edge of the lace fastening and across the toe vamp with contrasting white top stitching. The tongue is made from the same suede for a coherent look with a woven label above that shows signature Vans Off The Wall branding whilst on either side shaped side stripes have been coloured in a slightly darker shade than the uppers with a square woven label above on the outer side panels showing Sci-Fi Fantasy’s stylised ‘X’ logo. Around the heel custom embroidery on either side reads ‘Sci-Fi’ on one shoe and ‘Fantasy’ on the other, both in white and underneath on the durable rubber midsole a branded ‘Vans Off The Wall’ red heel stamp adds an extra signature touch. Throughout the inside of the design a soft fabric lining helps to provide all day comfort alongside PopCush insoles which help to protect the foot from repetitive impacts. Additionally reinforcements at key stress areas increase longevity and the famous Vans Original Waffle tread pattern can be found underfoot which supplies a high level of grip for wear across a variety of terrains.

Perhaps best known for inventing skate tricks as seen in parts within Emerica’s 2010 video Stay Gold and The Storm by Osiris in 1999, American skateboarder Jerry Hsu was awarded pro status aged 16 and after nearly 20 years in the spotlight has taken a step back to pursue other interests and to launch his own clothing and accessories brand Sci-Fi Fantasy. The perfect match for skate fans, this collaboration between Vans and Hsu taps into the skater's own personal upbringing and creative eye with custom graphics and colour tones across everyday apparel styles and two key footwear models.
