Santa Cruz Island Buckwheat

A species of wild buckwheat that can reach up to seven feet high and nine feet wide.  It has gray foliage with pink flowers that bloom from summer to winter.  Santa Cruz Island Buckwheat is easy to grow.  It is endemic to the Channel Islands.  Plant on dry, well drained shallow slopes or flats, and surround with plenty of mulch or rocks. 

Dead head in late summer/ early fall after flowers have run their course.
